Tasty food :)
Last nights starter... finely chopped smoked salmon mixed with shallot, cream cheese and a little mint, layered with finely sliced caramelized quince served with cream cheese, chopped caramelized quince and tapanade and a pesto and Stilton scone :) mmmm

basqueing in the light
I went to see my stepfather today. He's had a hard time of late and has just moved into a sheltered accomadation flat in Hammersmith. I helped him get it sorted out into a a place that looked like somewhere to live rather than a storage area for random stuff and half assembled flat pack sofas. He was very proud of this light which he bought the other day on Northend Road - he'd described it to me over the phone and I'm was glad to see that the actuality was much better than my imagination had predicted! It was a tiring day but I now have a real sense of achievement and he has a comfy sitting room. He also gave me a very cool pressie - see the post below....

Iconic New Camera
My stepfather has had this camera a good few years and today he gave it to me as a gift on the grounds that I was more likely to use it. It's a long time since I shot anything on film but I'm going to give it a go! It's a 1936 model, in very very good condition and I'm looking forward to learning how to use it. He's given me a copy of The Leica Way too so that should help... So thank you Raymond - now just to learn to load film into it... watch this space..
